Pinot Noir, an Italian Love Affair
Pinot Noir, an Italian Love Affair Saturday, July 25, 2009 1:00-3:00 PM
Pinot Noir: It's the grape so distinctive that it got its own movie. As Miles Raymond pontificates in Sideways, Pinot Noir "can only grow in these really specific, little tucked-away corners of the world. And only the most patient and nurturing of growers can do it. Only somebody who really takes the time to understand Pinot's potential can then coax it into its fullest expression." On Saturday July 25, Pinot Noir will be the center of a special tasting in IWM's Studio Del Gusto. This fussy and famous varietal grows exclusively in Italy's North, and this tasting will focus on producers like Friuli's Movia, Alto Adige's Hofstätter, Piemonte's Rocche dei Manzoni and Forteto della Luja, as well as feature Argentina's Bodega Chacra and a Spumante from Bruno Giacosa. Complemented by dishes from IWM's own custom salumeria, this tasting will make even hard-core Francophiles think again about Italian Pinot. Bringing Pinot Noir and Italy together, this will be an affair to remember.
Participants Receive: • A “Taste of” seven different regional wines
